Information We Collect
When you submit a catering inquiry through one of our websites, we collect the following information:
• Name, email address, and phone number
• Event details including date, time, location, guest count, and event type
• Any additional information you choose to provide in the notes field
We also automatically collect standard web log data when you visit our websites, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We use cookies to improve your experience on our sites. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function as intended.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to:
• Respond to your catering inquiry and provide you with a quote
• Communicate with you about your event via email, phone, or text message
• Improve our websites and services
SMS and Text Message Communications
By submitting a catering inquiry form on any of our websites and providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Food Truck Avenue and its associated brands regarding your catering request. This may include quote delivery, availability confirmations, and follow-up communications related to your inquiry.
Message frequency varies based on the status of your catering request. Msg & data rates may apply.
To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message we send you. To request help, reply HELP. You may also contact us directly at info@foodtruckavenue.com to be removed from our messaging list.
Mobile opt-in information, including phone numbers collected through our catering inquiry forms, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes for any reason.
Email Communications
If you have submitted a catering inquiry, we may email you about your event and about our catering services.
To unsubscribe at any time, email the word "unsubscribe" to info@foodtruckavenue.com and we will remove you from our mailing list.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our websites and delivering our services, including:
• Mailgun — for transactional email delivery
• ActiveCampaign — for customer relationship management
• Google — for analytics and advertising measurement, including Google Ads — and, for vendors who connect one, Google Calendar (see "Google Calendar data" below)
• Microsoft Advertising — for advertising measurement
• reCAPTCHA — for spam prevention on our inquiry forms
When you arrive at one of our websites from a paid search advertisement, we record the click identifier supplied by the advertising platform. If your inquiry later results in a booking, we send that click identifier and the value of the booking back to the advertising platform so we can measure which advertisements produce business. We do not send your name, email address, or phone number to any advertising platform.
These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to us, and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing purposes.
We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.
Google Calendar data (food truck vendors)
Vendors who list a food truck with us can connect the truck's Google Calendar, so that their own commitments block the truck from being booked over them and so that the bookings they accept through Food Truck Avenue appear on the calendar they already use. This section describes exactly what we do with that access. It applies only to vendors who choose to connect a calendar; we never access a customer's Google account.
What we access. With your permission we use two Google permissions, and nothing else. calendar.calendarlist.readonly lists the calendars you own, so that you can choose which one we read — we never guess, and if you own more than one we ask. calendar.events.owned then lets us do two things on that one calendar: read its events, and add, change and remove the events we create there. We do not access any other Google data, and we do not read or change anything on calendars you do not own.
What we keep. From each event we keep only its title, its start and end times, its location as written on the event, and Google's identifier for the event. We do not keep event descriptions, attendees, organizers, meeting links, attachments, or your Google account address. The rest of each event is discarded the moment it is read. We also store the name and identifier of the calendar you chose, so we can tell you which one we are reading. The title is kept so that your own calendar in Food Truck Avenue is readable to you — without it every commitment read from your calendar appears as an identical "Busy" row and tells you nothing. It is shown to you, to the people on your own vendor team, and to our platform staff, who use it to tell one commitment from another when routing your truck. It is never shown to customers, never appears on any public page, and is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.
What we add to your calendar. When a booking on your truck is confirmed, we add an event to your calendar showing the date, the service time including the setup and teardown time you told us your truck needs, the venue address, and a link to the booking in the vendor portal. If the booking changes or is cancelled, we update or remove that event. We also add the gigs you enter on Food Truck Avenue yourself, so the calendar you already use shows them too, and we remove them from it when you delete them here. Every event we create carries our own identifier — the booking's, or the gig's — and our system will only change or delete an event that carries one. We do not modify or delete events created by you or by anyone else, even though the permission Google grants us would allow it. We add nothing else.
How we use it. Event titles are displayed back to you on your own calendar screens so you can tell one commitment from another, and are used for nothing else. Event times mark your truck as busy so it cannot be instantly booked over an existing commitment. An event's address, where one is present, is used to check whether the truck can travel from that commitment to a requested booking; that check never by itself refuses or accepts a booking. Addresses are placed on the map by our own geocoding server; we do not send your calendar data to any outside geocoding or mapping service. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it, and we do not use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. Food Truck Avenue's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The events we add to your calendar exist so that a booking you have already accepted is visible where you already look, without an invitation you have to accept.
Who can see it. The title, date, time and address of each pulled event are visible to you and to the team members you have added to your account, on your truck's calendar in the vendor portal and in the calendar feed you can subscribe to from your phone, and to our platform staff, who use them to route your truck between jobs and to keep it from being booked over an existing commitment. Customers never see any of it — a customer sees only their own booking and whether a truck is available, never that another commitment exists.
How it is stored. The access credentials Google issues to us are encrypted at rest with a key that our web application cannot read. Calendar data is refreshed about every ten minutes, and when Google notifies us of a change, for as long as the connection is active.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it. We keep the event data only while your calendar is connected. Disconnecting the calendar in the vendor portal deletes every event we pulled, together with any address you added to one, removes every event we created on your calendar — both booking events and your own gigs, and revokes our access at Google within minutes. You can also revoke our access from your Google Account's third-party access settings; that stops all further reading and writing at once, but it does not delete the events already pulled or the booking events we created — disconnect in the portal, or contact us at info@foodtruckavenue.com, to have them deleted. Encrypted backups of our database may hold a copy for up to twelve months; backups are not used to look up individual records.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill your catering inquiry and maintain our business records. If you would like your information removed from our records, please contact us at info@foodtruckavenue.com.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Our websites may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our websites after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
